From BurnZero

To get out of the ecological crisis we need to make a new coalition of people. Unfortunately, we cannot just make another corporation as there are some fundamental issues with this traditional mechanism. BurnZero posits a traditional corporation is analogous to a machine, a machine that operates through its structure driven by its primary objective, profit, meaning everything is subservient to this. This is why Google removed removed "Don't be evil" from its code of conduct / incorporation statement.

Burnzero, suggests any new coalition should use a series of hierarchical Tenets as a type of ROM of the business so this cannot be edited in the future. The first Tenet is Transparency, which if you talk to anyone in business is the WORST thing you can do as profit is made behind closed doors. However, its BZs argument that in a hyper liquid economy such as the internet where you reach peak state of tech, i.e. Amazon reaches the ideal format of minimum clicks to purchase or Apple creates a notch-less phone etc etc the only room for competition for a new business is within the ethical space.

You can see this already in action at the moment, Stripe (https://stripe.com/gb/climate) vs Paypal or the success of  and Patagonia. However, a massive problem with this is accountability and veracity of claims. Lots of companies are flooding into this space to certify companies that are "green" or "ethical" such as "B-Corps" but there is a massive conflict of interest. For instance, if I pay you to certify me that Im green, what if you don't certify me under your criteria? In a market with only one certifier I have no choice to move (this is the principle of government certification / licensing), however in the market there is little to no regulation (watch Seaspiracy: Netflix) it means self regulation is ultimately doomed.

So where to go from here? Government eco/ethical certification would be great, but that isn't going to happen as GDP is massively reliant on lots of non-eco/ethical activity (See September 8, 2022: "UK to announce dozens of new North Sea oil and gas licences" https://www.reuters.com/business/energy/exclusive-uk-announce-dozens-new-north-sea-oil-gas-licences-sources-2022-09-07/). Self regulation isnt going to work as above. So the only way forward would be design a new machine which deals with these issues from inception.

There are new, benevolent machines around mainly NFP's/Charities, but they have massive issues the main is that they are restricted in their activity as if the piss off the State they may have their Tax status revoked which would lead to a massive reduction in their donations (as many people offset their income tax by donating). Second issue that compounds this their primary tenet although not for profit is survival, so NFPs tend not to be lean, over employ people and have an efficiency rate i.e. how much money actually gets to the cause of around 30% (https://www.charitywatch.org/).

This is where the T-Corp comes in. The T-Corp will be 100% transparent from the start. This is done financially, by linking all donations centrally to Stripe, then publishing the entire account information on the  Decentralised Repository (burnzero.com). Burnzero is working to a roadmap (https://burnzero.com/Roadmap) to become distributed to ensure no retrospective falsification of records can occur at the moment BZ simply publishes its log of changes (https://burnzero.com/Special:RecentChanges) automatically via its Twitter account (https://twitter.com/transparent122).

Then following the incorporation which we hope finalise in the next month, we are going to establish a DSAO to start generating funds to further the project. We already have a DSAO running (https://prepare.online/) however it lacks the Incorporation of the T-Corp, which leads to the bank account which leads to the Stripe which leads to the publication.
