SSRI and psychedelics

It is thought that if psychedelics are used with SSRIs such as fluoxetine this may lead to serotonin syndrome and a decrease in subjective psychedelic effects. However, this is theoretical and there is no empirical data on the interaction between psychedelics and antidepressants. Recently, the serotonin theory of depression has been cast into doubt by large studies[1], further disproving this theory.
