Tryptamines
The effects of psychedelics is so dependent on the person, set and setting, that the uncontrolled, anecdotal data we have to date it is difficult to isolate objective pharmacological effects. However from the information we do have within the tryptamine chemical group include:
Psilocybin
Isolated from Psilocybin mushrooms, the prodrug (active) metabolite is psilocin. Addressing the cultural priming psilocybin is a mushroom found in the forest so there is often a natural, wisdom of the forest type experience.
DMT
The cultural priming of DMT is towards meeting entities, popularise by Terence McKenna's "Machine Elves" (see Figure 1) The are some studies suggesting this is a common occurrence seemingly autonomous entities, consistent with previous DMT studies[2][3][4]
