Medicinal mushrooms are mushrooms which have documented effects against different diseases, including various mental health disorders, infections and inflammatory disorders[1]. Mushrooms with the most scientific data include:

  • Magic Mushrooms (mainly psilocybin species) - cause changes to human perception.
  • Reishi (Ganoderma sichuanense) - known for its immune-boosting properties and is often used in traditional Chinese medicine.
  • Lion's Mane (Hericium erinaceus) - has been found to have various health benefits, including boosting cognitive function, reducing inflammation and oxidative stress.
  • Hen-of-the-woods or Maitake (Grifola frondosa) - this mushroom is often used for its potential immune-boosting and anticancer properties.
