This is a pyramid of human needs, once the lower level is fulfilled a person moves to the next stage of need.
Everyone is driven to do stuff by a need. If you need to eat you go buy some food, if you are thirsty you buy water. These needs can be catergorised, into what usually comes first, so things that are to do with the body, food, hydration warmth come first. After the basics are covered you proceed up to another category of needs, Safety and so on. Maslow thought about this enough and made the pyramid of human needs. The idea is once the lower level is fulfilled a person moves to the next, higher stage of need.
