Psychedelic Best Practice is the concept of what is the best (safe/efficient/effective) way to administer psychedelic medicines given the best information that we have at this time. The key to this is looking at the entire process from beginning to end:
- Priming - psychedelics administration leads to susceptible neuroplastic states. As such, expectations need to be addressed before entering the psychedelic state.
- Setting - during the experience, patients need to be in a controlled environment.
- Integration - after the experience the patient needs to be able to integrate the experience into their lives to return back to normality.
