ESG

Environmental, Social, and Governance is a term used by corporations to show the public that they actively monitor and work to mitigate the social and environmental externalities caused by their operation. The term ESG is simply the newest iteration of the term Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) which became a popular in the 90's as a response to reports of corporate irresponsibility.
