Representative

As there are 8 billion of us, alone we are divided so where democracy exists we elect those that appeal to us (politicians) and promote those that are the most intelligent of us (professionals). Unfortunately, representation causes a power differential between themselves and the common folk which has been documented to change their behaviour. This has lead many politicians to be captured by big industry and professionals by bad science.
