There are 8 billion of us, alone we are divided, so where democracy exists we elect representatives. Representatives that appeal to lead us are called politicians but we also promote those that are the most intelligent of us to professional class. Unfortunately, representation causes a power differential between themselves and the common folk which has been documented to change their behaviour[1]. This has lead many people with good initial good intentions to be captured by big industry and bad science.
